GDPR & Cookie Policy

This page was last updated on 18 August 2026. It applies to visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

1. Introduction

This website is operated by Kos Engineering, s. r. o. (“we”, “us”) and is built and hosted as a plain static site — it does not run WordPress, a database, or any advertising or analytics platform. This page explains the little data it does collect, the cookies and browser storage it uses, and the rights you have over your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What are cookies and browser storage?

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Modern browsers also offer local storage and session storage, which work similarly but stay on your device rather than being sent to a server. We use the term “cookies” below to cover all of these.

3. What we use — and what we don't

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run any analytics or visitor-tracking scripts on this site. The only items we use are strictly functional, and the only personal data we ever receive is what you choose to type into our contact form.

4. Storage and third-party services on this site

Functional — local storage

Language preference

Remembers which language (EN/DE/SK) you last chose, so your next visit opens in that language. Stored only on your device — it is never sent to us.

Functional — session storage

Loading screen flag

Remembers that you've already seen the loading animation once, so it isn't repeated on every page during the same visit.

Third party — web fonts

Google Fonts

Loads this site's typefaces (Work Sans, Inter) directly from Google's servers. Google receives the request and your IP address in order to serve the font files.

Third party — embedded map

Google Maps

The map on our Contact page is an embedded Google Maps frame. Loading that page contacts Google's servers, which may set their own cookies.

Third party — form delivery

FormSubmit.co

When you submit our contact form, its content (name, email, subject, message) is relayed through FormSubmit.co, which forwards it to our inbox by email. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form yourself.

5. Managing or deleting stored data

You can view, block or delete cookies and local/session storage at any time in your browser's settings — look under “Privacy” or “Site settings” in its Help section. Blocking storage may change how the language switcher and loading screen behave, but the rest of the site keeps working.

6. Your rights under GDPR

Where we process your personal data — for example, what you submit through our contact form — you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”).

  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

  • Object to how we process your data.

  • Withdraw consent at any time, wherever processing relies on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you believe we haven't handled your data correctly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov SR).
